Canon 24 70 or 24 105. The 24-70s speed allows better pictures at. Both are good lenses but I found that the 24-70 had better IQ. I would like to try a 24-70 one day.
I suspect that on a APS-C body there would be almost no real world difference. As a result I think people who decide to get the new 24-70 as an upgrade of their existing 24-105mm or 24-70 v1 will be very happy with the physical characteristics of the new lens. 50mm is considered normal and the 24-70 lens is designed to have about the same reach on either end.
The 24-105 shows less flare effects while the 24-70 has less linear distortion. I love the bokeh of the 24-70 but you dont get much with the 24-105. For indoors low light etc youre most probably better off with 50mm 14 or 85mm 18.

I imagine thats why they brought out the f4 version. The main difference is on full frame at wider apertures where the 24-70 edges are softer. If you dont want to take the 70-200 the 24-105 offers more reach but obviously not as much as the 70-200.
